This piece was written for Mezzo Soprano, Kelsey Goodwin and was performed in the 2021 Chicago songSLAM competition. Inspired by the text from a song by the same name written by Argentinean composer, Irma Urteaga. This is a cradle song but instead of lulling a child, the singer is putting their heart to sleep. It speaks of heartbreak, loneliness, and an overall wish to feel comfort once again.
